let's talk about Muharram

Muḥarram is the first month of the Islamic calendar. The general meaning of the adjective 'haiiharram means "banned, barred, forbidden, illegal, illicit, impermissible, prohibited, unlawful, unauthorized, unpermitted". It is one of the four sacred months of the year during when warfare is forbidden ~ (Source - Wikipedia) The first station on the train of the Islamic calendar stands as Muharram. It marks the dire memories of the Battle of Karbala fought between the army of the second Umayyad caliph Yazid I and a tiny army led by Hussein ibn Ali, the grandson of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad S.A.W, at Karbala, Iraq. The Tenth day of Muharram is known as the Day of Ashura. Sometimes, as part of the Mourning of Muharram, Shia Muslims practice partial fasting, and Sunni Muslims practice fasting on Ashura. Muslims mourn the martyrdom of Ḥussein ibn Ali and his family, honoring the martyrs by prayer and celibacy from joyous events. The Battle of Karbala was fought bec...

Reflection on Quranic verse

Surah At-Taubah - 51 قُلْ لَنْ يُصِيبَنَا إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَنَا هُوَ مَوْلَانَا ۚ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ - Say: "Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us: He is our Protector": and on Allah let the Believers put their trust. - This verse of Surah At-Taubah, the 9th chapter is so calming, full of hope. We have to keep reminding ourselves that Almighty has assured us everything happening to us is what He Himself has willed for us. He knows the pain, misery, suffering, agony, happiness, joy, everything is what we need & He gives us at times we need it the most even though we might not want it.  Everything is a part of His Divine Plan. The one only He can understand. He's Knower of Seen & Unseen alone & SubhanAllah why do we stress when He's doing things only for our best? Having faith and trust in Allaah works wonders. We might not even realise how instantly we relax down when we remind ourse...

Fake Influencers

Fake influencers are those social media users who, by all the appearances looks like influencers. They post high-quality images that are not much distinctive from those of a real influencer.Although, the major difference here is that their following largely consists of bots and fakeaccounts. Some even buy the followers. They do not have significant influence over an authenticgallery. They do not grow integrally. They rush behind collabs.  They forget that quality of followers is far more important than quantity.Surprisingly in a lot of cases, there may be a gang backside a distinct fake influencer, whichinvolves creating a fake account of a person that doesn't even exist. To make it look alike thereal influencer, they would also buy followers and engagement and they try to prove that they areliterally influential but unfortunately, they aren't.Fake influencing effects a lot on startups and small businesses than that of large andentrenched brands. Nevertheless, thay too face ...

𝑹𝒂𝒃𝒃𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒍 𝑩𝒂𝒊𝒕

Woman, a word which holds so much of delicacy, affection and tenderness, all at the same time. Intricately carved from a man's rib, she indeed is a gift to mankind from the almighty Allah (swt). A blessing she is who beautifies and brings Almighty's Rahmah in the home she is born, becomes the reason for her father to enter Jannah, completes her life-partner's Deen and the highest of all, has her off-springs' Jannah under her feet. Often mistaken as oppressed, Rabbaitul Bait she is, the Queen of her kingdom. Article is Composed by Hanna Azam Ibrahimi For any Further Details you Can Reach us muslimhomies@yahoo.com

Remembrance of ALLAH

When we fall, we remember ALLAH, when we pick ourselves from the ground, we remember ALLAH. Nothing in this world could give us the peace that we get from his remembrance. And when I say remembrance it is not just a casual remembrance, it is the act of calming our hearts, our minds, and our souls. Maybe remembrance is a just small word, very small. Maybe calming is also a small word to define the entire process. “When the believers noticed how this worldly life controls the people who are lost in it and how the evil captures the souls, they turned to the to their Lord’s remembrance. Just as the hunted deer runs for his life.” SubhanAllah! Have you ever thought what else we would have done if our faith was not there in our hearts? Sounds like a nightmare, isn't it? For a believer, faith is the foremost thing. People whose hearts are not insightful will never be able to recognize this, never. Let us all never forget this ever: “ Those who have believed and whose hearts a...

Gratitude is the key for more blessings

Allaah blesses us & at times we complain that He has taken away his blessings more sooner than He had given. Do we realise WHY? When we give some human a good part of our fortune or even our behaviour, and he/she doesn't appreciate it back, do we genuinely keep giving or we stop abruptly because they weren't appreciating us enough for what we gave them? Then what makes you think that Allaah will keep showering His blessings on you when you just sit there complaining or not appreciating the blessings.  I know you might say that He's Allaah and like He's supposed to give, but He has promised in the Quran that He will give more to those who are thankful. And the basic Faith in Islamic Monoethism is divided into two things, patience and gratitude. So when we thank Allaah for every small and basic thing he blesses us with, He increases in giving us. Be thankful for everything you have along with being patient, and see how Allaah changes your life and gives yo...

Freedom? (part 2)

Amidst the encircling gloom, I question myself every time as I try to substitute a reason. For, nothing feels enlightened. As we swallow a dose of lies in the name of truth. By being unaware. I fear the eventuality of judgements passed.  With betrayal it manifest. So, I decide and urge to wish, To wish for peace and freedom against war. Peace that calms the tired soul just like the wonderful purple evenings calming the wanderer. Freedom that frees a bird from its cage to fly over where the sky is spread out overhead. To wish for justice against oppression. To wish for good governance who believes in goodness, who fear their lords and judge with clarity just like the golden morning sunrise.  To wish for unity against division. Unity that speaks and consoles just like the stars that twinkles one by one and beautifies the sky with its glitter even more.  To wish for kindness against brutality. Not the kindness that mourn over the dead or the security of the slav...

Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear

Her eyes were heavy from the burdens of the world which her heart carried. There was no escape to this heaviness, this gloominess that lingered inside hed from days altogether. Peace and tranquility were unknown to her soul. It was all but restful. And yet again, it was only her Lord who could heal her. After all, he's Al-Jabbar, the mender of broken hearts. With the escape of each tear and the stories they carried along with constant murmuring of duas for everyone she could remember, she felt better. Because she knew her Lord was Al-Mujeeb, answerer to every prayer. And who else could be the safest haven for her? Who could know her better than Him, the one who loved her 70× more than the one who had my Paradise below her feet. Deep down she knew that He wouldn't disregard her as these humans did.  He would listen to her ever carefully. He would satisfy her and her restless soul. And this made her realise that her Lord had not abandoned her. He didn't leave her ...

Freedom?

The wind accompanies and cry along as my heart sinks and my hopes too. My armour broken by climbing on the verge of hopelessness.  In a traditional way or with the patriotic feeling. The passionate word, 'azaadi' echoes and that would perhaps, most of us did. But are we really? Despite India being home to 200 million muslims. The largest religious minority. They are under the traps of Islamophobia throughout the 20th century. How? According to Wikipedia, " Most incidents have occurred in the northern and western states of India, whereas communalist sentiment in the south is less pronounced. Among the largest incidents were Great Calcutta killings in 1946, Bihar and Garmukhteshwar in 1946 after Noakhali riot in East Bengal, the massacre of Muslims in Jammu in 1947, large-scale killing of Muslims following the Operation Polo in Hyderabad, anti-Muslim riots in Kolkata in the aftermath of 1950 Barisal Riots and 1964 East-Pakistan riots, 1969 Gujarat riots, 1984 Bhi...

what do we learn from the month of Muharram?

The first month of Hijri Calendar is Muharram.  The month which has so many lessons to render.  The importance of hijrat in itself serve significant lesson.  The importance of the 10th day of Muharram is reported as the blessing when Allahﷻ granted victory to Prophet Moosa back then and protected the children of Israel from the tyrant Pharaoh and his oppressions. Fasting on this day was practised by Prophet Moosaع and Prophet Muhammedﷺ, fasting on this day expiates many sins. (By His will). The month of Muharram reminds of  the tragedy of Karbala, it inspires the struggle, the courage and steadfastness of Hussainع to stand and fight against baatil like a solid cemented structure with no compromise - an inspiration for us all to imbibe.  Still we have the Pharoahs and Baatil,  the question we need to ask ourselves is - the love we claim and declare for Hussainع is it really in our veins and blood or is this just another hearsay or illusion? The r...

THE MERCY OF ALLAH

We all do sin. There’s no denying it. We repent and then sin from time to time. This is for the for those sinners who think they are too impure to be forgiven.  Look, there’s no such thing as “too impure to be forgiven”. If anything, those are whispers of Shaytaan. Your sins aren’t bigger than Allah’s mercy. Please always remember that. Imagine, on the day of judgement Allah telling you “ I was always ready to forgive you but you never asked for forgiveness.” Would you want that? No right? No matter how many sins we’ve done. We’re not allowed to lose hope. Say: "O 'Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. Quran(39:53). Whenever you feel hopeless, remind your heart this ayah. Read it often and remember no matter how many sins you’ve committed, Allah always forgives you. You have to believe in his Mercy. It’s ne...

Death

Death is inevitable. As it is written in the Holy Book كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ (Al-Imran; Verse 185) -every soul shall taste death. The taste you get when you lick your tongue to the ice cream and feel the cold waves hitting the jaws and cheeks. The same way you will taste death and feel the cold waves hitting every corner of your soul. It doesn't knock at your door with permission but it comes without invitation. Death hovers over you like a cloud-ready to burst and pour rain but it spills ruthless rain that will flood every inch of your soul and will leave you out of breath.  The fragrance of death is odorless. It doesn't glimmer like a rainbow but it definitely whips out each and every color you have seen. Death is always beside you like your shadow. You carry it along everywhere without the hint when it will knock you out. Without the idea when your soul will shake and shiver. The death is desolate and deserted, penitence & pity will fill your soul....

An Antidote

Piercing through the window and humming the verses from the Holy Book, Quran. He cried because of the darkness confined within him. The darkness that roars through the blood and bones. To put out that darkness with the luminous light he needed an antidote. An antidote that would hover above the darkness and drive it away just like the sun puts the dark long night into the sleep. He recalled how he had cried himself to sleep for countless nights, sobbing and dreading over the illness that darkness had infected him with. Infected and corrupted his soul with the seductive wishes and wants of this ephemeral realm. Chanting the verses loud and clear "Yaa muqallibal quloob thabbit qalbee ‘alaa deenik" (Oh Turner of the Hearts (Allah, the Most High) keep our hearts firm on your religion), acknowledging the meaning of the words written by the Turner of Hearts.  As long as he read them & embedded them inside his heart the grip of darkness loosened. Loosened like sand t...
