An Antidote

Piercing through the window and humming the verses from the Holy Book, Quran. He cried because of the darkness confined within him. The darkness that roars through the blood and bones. To put out that darkness with the luminous light he needed an antidote. An antidote that would hover above the darkness and drive it away just like the sun puts the dark long night into the sleep. He recalled how he had cried himself to sleep for countless nights, sobbing and dreading over the illness that darkness had infected him with. Infected and corrupted his soul with the seductive wishes and wants of this ephemeral realm. Chanting the verses loud and clear "Yaa muqallibal quloob thabbit qalbee ‘alaa deenik" (Oh Turner of the Hearts (Allah, the Most High) keep our hearts firm on your religion), acknowledging the meaning of the words written by the Turner of Hearts.
As long as he read them & embedded them inside his heart the grip of darkness loosened. Loosened like sand through the fingers. The antidote for the darkness poured the peace and piousness through his vessels. A whiff of pleasure & peace rose around him & curing the patient. A cure, a medication, an antidote that wipes out every ailment whether corporal or cognitive.

First-hand accounts from inside China's internment camps provide evidence of an organized system of mass rape & torture of Uyghur women. "Rape was common." "... the police took turns to rape her." “My job was to... handcuff them so they cannot move.” Tursunay Ziawudun (pictured) spent nine months inside China’s network of internment camps. She spoke to the BBC about her experience. My God! This is a very difficult, but important read. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-55794071
